MMO helps the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home
When you give through the Missouri Missions Offering this year, $127,500 of the offering will help support the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in 2011. Missouri Baptist Children’s Home is “committed to serving God by responding to the needs of children, youth and families to make a lasting difference in their lives.” MBCH cares for children and youth at several campuses located throughout the state, providing spiritual guidance, counseling and a safe haven from abuse and neglect.
- The Lowe-Frillman Campus is located in the St. Louis suburb of Bridgeton Missouri. This campus is licensed for 72 children in residential care and houses the largest population of both residents and staff members.
- The Byrne Campus is located in the Kansas City suburb of Peculiar, Missouri. This campus opened in 1985 with the construction of a group home to serve Western Missouri. Currently this campus is designed to care for 12 boys in residential care.
- In the fall of 1990, the Greg Dalton Campus, located at Lamar, Missouri, opened with one home licensed to care for 10 children. This campus is used by MBCH Children and Family Ministries as a group home for long-term behavioral foster care.
- The Hutchens Campus, located at Mt. Vernon, Missouri, opened in 1986. This campus features four group homes with a licensed capacity of 42 children. The Hutchens Campus is used by MBCH Children and Family Ministries to provide residential care for both boys and girls and the Transitional Living Program.
- In addition to the campuses owned by MBCH Properties, MBCH Children and Family Ministries has regional offices in Branson, Hannibal, Jefferson City, Joplin, Lee’s Summit, and Springfield. These offices focus on foster and adoptive parent recruiting, training and placement and case management for children needing homes around the state.

The Missouri Baptist Children’s Home is one of the agencies that benefited the most when Dr. Rheubin L. South combined several Missouri Baptist Convention offerings into one offering, forming what is now called the Missouri Missions Offering in 1985.
