I have benefited firsthand from Missouri Baptists
Like many others, my personal story is profoundly linked to Missouri Baptists. I was raised, baptized, licensed, and ordained in Missouri Baptist churches. I met my wife at an associational youth event. My degree is from a Missouri Baptist institution. In my family tree are teachers, deacons and worship leaders of Missouri Baptist churches. Today, I am the pastor of a great Missouri Baptist congregation. In short, I have benefited firsthand from the generosity and faithfulness of Missouri Baptists. That’s why I support the MMO. I believe in Missouri Baptists, and in what we can accomplish for the Kingdom when we partner together.

Campus Chinese Baptist Church starts at Springfield
By Philip Wong. Thank you for praying for Campus Chinese Baptist Church’s (CCBC) first Sunday morning worship service . God answered your prayers. The whole experience was a miracle.
At around 10:50 a.m., the worship team and other co-workers got into a circle near the kitchen to prayer. As I glanced at the rows of empty seats to my left, I felt disheartened. I closed my eyes, bowed and silently said to God, “I have faith in You.”
At 11:00 a.m., still only a handful of people had arrived. Since it was our first day, we decided to wait a little bit. Shortly after, people started to pour in and I found myself helping the greeters to welcome people. In the upstairs hallway, it was packed with people waiting to receive sticky name tags. As the seats were about to fill up, I had to ask Roger Turnbough and a few male students to help bring out more chairs from the storage room. Read the rest of this entry »
Peine Ridge is gaining momentum at Wentzville
Momentum can be defined as the quantity of motion of a moving body. If we were to sum up the experiences of this past month at Peine Ridge Church, it would be in these two words: gaining momentum. God has truly been gracious to us, providing abundantly more than what we’ve deserved. He has brought people, resources, favor with the community, and time to accomplish the work. We stand in awe of Him today, recognizing that He is opening the doors and holding our hands through it all. (Isaiah 45:1)
Though our history is short, we’ve had some exciting times in the life of our church. I still remember that first night our core team sat huddled in our living room crying out to God to Read the rest of this entry »
God takes the lead at Laclede Cowboy Church
Cowboy. Hello, my name is David Kenyon. I reside on a small farm in a simple, little rural community in Moniteau County, Missouri. It happens to be the highest point in the county, so they simply named it High Point, Missouri. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Julie for 17 years in July, which I thank God for bringing her into my life each day. We have been blessed with two beautiful children, Stacey (12) and Tyler (9). I grew up in southwest Missouri on a small farm south of Branson, Missouri where I began a love for cattle and horses. Working around livestock at several local sale barns in Missouri and Arkansas for a cattle order buyer, the country and western heritage became a way of life, which I still enjoy today. MMO helps us share the gospel across Missouri
I am blessed to serve a church that is committed to local, state and global missions. Giving to our state missions offering is one way God can work through us to reach others for Christ right here in Missouri. God is always faithful to us. He simply desires us to glorify Him by loving Him and serving others. I believe we should be starting new churches, sending more people and sharing the gospel to everyone in our state. I pray every person and church will faithfully give to support the work of missions in our state.
—Mark Anderson, Senior Pastor, Lynwood Baptist Church, Cape Girardeau
We support giving through the missions offering
Missions should be the heartbeat of our churches. At Hamilton Street, we have partnered with our state on mission trips that are supported by the Missouri Missions Offering. We have encouraged giving through the Missouri Missions Offering so that every corner of our state may be saturated with the gospel.

MMO helps us fulfill the Great Commission
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands us to go and make disciples. In Acts 1:8, Jesus says we will be his witnesses beginning in Jerusalem and reaching to the ends of the earth. As we read “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth,” to us it translates “Marshfield, Missouri, the United States and the world.” As a local church, we want to have people serving in each of these mission areas. The Missouri Missions Offering is a key way in which all of our people can reach across our state with the gospel. MMO helps us to reach our “Judea.” Through MMO we are sharing Jesus with people all across Missouri. Through MMO we are helping to plant new churches, train pastors and church leaders, and we are sending more people into the harvest field of Missouri. MMO helps us to do what Jesus calls us to do.
—Durwin Kicker, Pastor, FBC Marshfield
Welcome to the MMO Resources website!
“But someone will say, ‘you have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.” James 2:18 NIV.
Show-Me Faithful is the theme for Missouri Missions Offering emphasis in September of 2010. Now more than ever before, Missouri Baptists must be “doers of the Word.”
Our culture today is overloaded with words and rhetoric. We have people spending hours sharing their opinion on everything from politics to theology. We have come to understand that although programs are good they many times lose sight of their original purpose. James said it well when he said; …“I will show you my faith by what I do.”
Show-Me Faithful will enable Missouri Baptists to see missions up close and personal. MMO is all about action. The missions dollars received this fall will be put into action beginning in January of 2011. Together Missouri Baptists will show the world that we are Christians by our loving actions: sharing Christ’s love, sending missionaries, and starting churches.
This year MMO will be promoted differently than in recent years. We will not send out speakers to the churches but rather provide improved promotional materials for churches to promote the offering throughout the month of September. Churches can still invite MBC staff and Directors of Missions to their churches to speak. However, the improved materials provided in the promotion packet include a top quality video DVD, bulletin inserts and teaching materials, a sermon starter for a pastor to use, as well as the new option of ordering materials online or downloading them from this website. If you didn’t receive a promotion packet in the mail, please call 800-736-6227, ext. 201 and we will send one to you. I sincerely hope that these improved materials and new ordering options will allow you more freedom in promoting the offering in your church.
