God takes the lead at Laclede Cowboy Church
Cowboy. Hello, my name is David Kenyon. I reside on a small farm in a simple, little rural community in Moniteau County, Missouri. It happens to be the highest point in the county, so they simply named it High Point, Missouri. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Julie for 17 years in July, which I thank God for bringing her into my life each day. We have been blessed with two beautiful children, Stacey (12) and Tyler (9). I grew up in southwest Missouri on a small farm south of Branson, Missouri where I began a love for cattle and horses. Working around livestock at several local sale barns in Missouri and Arkansas for a cattle order buyer, the country and western heritage became a way of life, which I still enjoy today. MMO is not just another time of collection
I believe that the Missouri Missions Offering is an incredible way for churches to give cooperatively to the cause of Christ here in our great state. Our faithful giving allows ministry and missions to go beyond what one church may be able to do on their own and gives greater impact. The MMO is not just another time of collection, it is a time for us to give towards the mission of reaching our state in the name of Jesus Christ.

MMO helps us fulfill the Great Commission
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands us to go and make disciples. In Acts 1:8, Jesus says we will be his witnesses beginning in Jerusalem and reaching to the ends of the earth. As we read “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth,” to us it translates “Marshfield, Missouri, the United States and the world.” As a local church, we want to have people serving in each of these mission areas. The Missouri Missions Offering is a key way in which all of our people can reach across our state with the gospel. MMO helps us to reach our “Judea.” Through MMO we are sharing Jesus with people all across Missouri. Through MMO we are helping to plant new churches, train pastors and church leaders, and we are sending more people into the harvest field of Missouri. MMO helps us to do what Jesus calls us to do.

Ice storm victim accepts Christ
Connie Handyside of the Mt. Salem Wyaconda Association chain saw unit experienced what we all pray and hope all disaster relief responses will involve. While responding after an ice storm at Cape Girardeau, Mo., Connie visited with a homeowner and shared the gospel. The Lord used her availability and witness as a disaster relief chaplain to convince that lady of her need for Jesus Christ. Connie had the privilege of leading her to faith in Christ right there on her front porch.
The Missouri Missions offering assists churches and associations in training Disaster Relief workers in the areas of mass care, providing a trailer for people to take a hot shower, learning to use a chain saw, child care, “mud out” (cleaning mud from flooded homes), assessment, and chaplains. Funds also are used for the upkeep of equipment and for maintaining the state Disaster Relief facility located at Marshall, Missouri.
